What was your first job?
My first Saturday job was in the shoe concession at Dorothy Perkins but my first HR role was HR Administrator for Friends of the Elderly, a lovely charity running elderly care homes that first inspired my love of working for the charity sector.
Who's influenced your career most (and why)?
Without sounding like the teachers pet I have to say Helen Giles, our Managing Director! Regardless of the challenge you are facing, she will always give you the confidence to take it on and I don’t think I have ever met anyone so committed to what they do.
What's the skill you'd most like to have?
Can I have two? A photographic memory and the ability to clone myself! Perhaps they are more superpowers than skills though!
What's on your desk?
A photo of my family, 2 mobile phones, my iPad, a bottle of mineral water and a pack of Malteasers (normally there would also be at least one can of Coke but I’m trying to be good!)
What's your favourite holiday destination?
Anywhere with a fine sandy beach and warm sea!
What are you passionate about?
Apart from my family and friends... working in the charity sector, George Michael the Bee Gees and Columbo!
What's your favourite quote or motto?
The past is a ghost, the future a dream, and all we ever have is now - Bill Cosby
What's the best quality in a leader?
If you had to eat one thing every day, what would it be?
What's your all-time favourite book (and why)?
I honestly cannot remember the last time I read a book for myself but at the moment it is Where’s Spot by Eric Hall. Because my baby finds every page hilarious.
What's the thing you hate the most?
Unreasonable people and people who drop litter
What did you want to be as a child?
A long distance lorry driver
What can't you live without?
Easy… my baby (and Colombo!).
What's the best thing about your job?
My team and the fact that we are a social enterprise.
