After obtaining a First Class Honours degree in Business and HR Management, Karen has worked in HR in both the public and charitable sector and in the private sector for media, arts, insurance and sales based organisations.
Karen now works with our wide range of private sector, charity and social enterprise customers to provide them with day to day helpline advice, strategic project work, investigations and consultancy support and training. Karen has broad experience in applying practical, engaging and business focused people solutions.
Karen was the Account Manager for our work on the DCLG-funded National Beyond a Helpline programme, working in partnership with 35 homelessness charities across the country to raise standards in HR, people management and front line services in the homelessness sector.
As part of her continued commitment to sharing best practice and inspiring managers Karen facilitates an 'HR Expert' session on the Leading Places of Change course for the Chartered Institute of Housing and delivers our nationwide open management development programme. Karen is a Chartered Member of the CIPD. Here’s what Karen’s clients have said about her:
"Working with Karen is much more effective and useful that my experience of working with any other type of consultant support. The support that we receive is tailored for our organisation, and while always consistent it never feels generic. Karen’s ability to demonstrate that she is putting the needs of the organisation first has meant that she has developed a high level of trust with our team. While Broadway is a relatively small team, Karen always ensures that she provides a very efficient service, even during busy periods."
"We are fully confident of Karen’s advice and support and know that her support is professional, accurate and relevant."
